Mechanism of action of antistatic agents
Antistatic agents are agents that prevent the buildup of static electricity by imparting a slight conductivity to insulators.
Most antistatic agents serve to lower electrical resistance by adsorbing airborne moisture on the surface of an object through the action of a surfactant.
Electrostatic charge is a phenomenon in which electrons become unevenly distributed and accumulate on an insulator due to friction or peeling, causing it to become charged with static electricity.
Static electricity causes instantaneous high-voltage current flow, which can cause various disorders such as electric shock pain, malfunction and physical destruction of precision equipment, and ignition.
In addition, because of the electric charge, dust, dirt, and pollen are adsorbed by the electrostatic action, causing stains.
